BADGER, Rodney Carlos, a member of the General Board of Y. M. M. I. A. from its organization in 1898 to 1912, was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, Sept. 8, 1848, a son of Rodney Badger (one of the original pioneers of Utah) and Nancy Garr. He grew up with the state and served in the Indian wars, as a missionary to California, as a surveyor on the Utah Central Railroad and later as a telegraph operator, and was a member of the bishopric of the 15th Ward, Salt Lake Stake, for a number of years. He was a teller in the Deseret National Bank for some years and a member of the Badger Bros. Company brokers. He had a large family, many of whom now hold prominent positions in the stake.
