HARDY, Milton H., a member of the General Board of Y. M. M. I. A. from 1898 to 1905, was born Sept. 26, 1844, in Bradford, Essex Co., Mass., a son of Josiah G. Hardy and Sarah C. Parker. He came to Utah and was baptized Oct. 17, 1852. He filled a mission to the United States in 1871- 1873, and in 1875 was called on a special mission by Pres. Brigham Young to accompany his son B. Morris Young and John Henry Smith on a tour to organize Young Men's Mutual Improvement Associations in all the wards and settlements throughout the stakes of Zion. In this mission these brethren were very successful. In 1876 Elder Hardy married Libbie Smoot and they had five children. He died Aug. 23, 1905.
